We are looking for a talented Head of Development to lead our technical team and deal with an expanding workload as Aqueduct continues to acquire clients. We’ve recently launched the sites for Tottenham Hotspur, and Suzuki, and there is no letting up: late this year we will also launch a brand-new site for Scope.org. We expect the proportion of actual project work for the role to be around 60% with most projects using either Umbraco and Sitecore.
The technical work is varied and spans across CMS development, API development and integration, live data consumption and processing (for sports and automotive clients), dev-ops (mainly Azure and some AWS), internal tools and set-up: continuous integration, automated testing, TDD.
We are looking for someone who can lead and manage a technical team, offer advice, leadership, mentoring and support, recruit permanent and freelance developers when necessary. The role requires a good knowledge and practice of Scrum, Kanban and test-driven methodologies.
As well as development and technical duties the Head of Development will be key in client relationships for pitch support, problem resolution and platform support. Our clients enjoy working with our development team and the role requires someone who is comfortable with clients and can translate complex technical matters in plain English.
This role will report directly to the CEO.

We also work with and around our clients, often literally as they come in to the office to work with us on several of their projects. You should be comfortable liaising and exchanging ideas with these people and have had experience in this type of environment.

Aqueduct has strong relationships with our clients and you may be required to work both at a client site in addition to the company offices in east London. We look for grown-ups to join our team, each member is expected to be proactive and self-manage their own responsibilities both on projects and in the team itself.
